Prior to leaving the Rapid City, SD area we returned to Mt. Rushmore in the early morning at the time when park rangers advised us was the best time to capture "picture postcard" images. We arrived at 8:30am took a series of shots from the National Park Service Grand View Terrance. Next we drove to the Sculptors Studio and took pictures from the angle Gutzon Borglum intended his completed work to be viewed (from the southeast).

As we drove toward our final destination Lincoln, Ne we drove through a portion of the Badlands National Park.
